DCP’S SAFETY RECORD CONTINUES TO IMPROVE
DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis, announced today that it has experienced a significant improvement in its Safety record. According to Maceo Russell, Safety Coordinator, DCP experienced nearly 50% decrease in recordable injures from 2004 to 2005.
The goal is to become World Champions in safety. That means zero recordables and no lost-time injuries. DCP took major steps to increase the awareness and focus on preventing injuries before they happen in. As a result, our Safety Awareness Team was formed: Richard Burgen, William Cowan, Demetrius Gunn, Roscoe Porter, Chrishawna Robinson and Maceo Russell.
The Safety Department also completed a massive training effort in the month of December. This effort assisted the organization in meeting its OSHA and MIOSHA mandated training requirements.
The 2006 ½ model year launched successfully without any injures or major safety concerns. We pride ourselves on being safe and producing a quality product at the same time.
The new model has major ergonomic improvements. Our engineering staff is also working on a solution to eliminate the need for the operator at station C3-370 to climb onto the vehicle while installing the steering wheel.
We are committed to safety awareness and we welcome your comments and suggestions.
“Safety is a Must With Us”.
