Writing DCP's Future Today
4/13/2007
Detroit Chassis’ strategy for the future is simple: Don’t let it happen, MAKE IT HAPPEN! We are convinced that robust processes combined with continuous improvement will ensure we get to and maintain World Champion status.
To date our laser-like focus on Safety, Quality and Productivity has delivered continued performance:
Safety - 476 days without a recordable injury
Quality - Reduction in vehicle warranty of 36% calendar year over calendar year and 33% favorable to the 2006 target
Productivity - Labor content has decreased through the adoption of Lean Strategy
We have achieved these remarkable results by improving key processes. Since this has been accomplished, we have targeted making our processes “growth-oriented”.
Processes from hiring associates to engineering change control to supplier management have been evaluated and enhanced for the next chapter in the DCP story, which we’re writing today.
Continuous improvement ensures that DCP cannot only handle new opportunities, but handle them in World Champion fashion. We’re leaving no stone unturned and welcome feedback from our readers if they see an opportunity for enhancement that we’ve not recognized. No opportunity is to great or small, we can handle it! That’s what DCP does.
