F-53 MY2008 Measuring Session a "Hit"

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 motorhome manufacturers from across the country converged on Detroit Chassis to get their first look at the upgrades coming for the Model Year (MY) 2008 F-53 Chassis. The DCP team was well prepared to review changes in detail.

Ford Motor Company was strongly represented:

Dan Snyder, Supervisor, Qualified Vehicle Modifiers

Snyder, lead the team through an action packed agenda ensuring that MY2008 changes will be included in customer design.

New MY2008 feature highlights include a 26,000 LBS Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) rating on the 228 and 242” wheel base units with a 50-degree wheel cut capability.

A new 158-wheel base chassis was introduced as well giving the Bodybuilders a strong line up across the Class A Motorhome market. Feedback from the crowd indicated that the F-53 Motorhome team is truly listening to the voice of the customer, introducing enhancements and striving for a robust product.

Individuals new to Detroit Chassis were also given the opportunity to tour the facility. The manufacturing environment performed at its usual high level of performance, even with all the distractions of the day, we maintained extraordinary high quality and productivity metrics.

People were impressed with Detroit Chassis’ outstanding safety record of 479 (and counting) days without a recordable injury.

Continuous improvement in the quality of the F-53 Motorhome Chassis, and our willingness to work with the customers to ensure that all requirements are addressed were also noted.

Tiger’s baseball was the finale of the action packed day of events. Customers and the
F-53 Motorhome Team had the opportunity to further discuss MY2008. All had a great day and the product proved to be the highlight.
