DCP Bids Farewell to Charles Kier
6/1/2007

Last Wednesday company leaders and DCP associates gathered at Andiamo’s Italian Restaurant in Dearborn, MI to say, job well done and farewell to Charles (Chuck) Kier, VP – Strategic Business Development for 12 years of service.

Kier stated in a communication to company leaders that leaving DCP is a difficult decision and he has enjoyed working for this organization and with DCP associates. Kier stated that he will miss the DCP family but he certainly will not miss his daily commute of 210 miles.

Kier started with Trumark LLC in July of 1995 and was hired as Director of Engineering. That experience allowed Kier to grow and gain a better understanding of manufacturing. As the organization changed, Kier was given the opportunity to generate sales and assist with growing the business. Kier was instrumental in the identification of the F-53 assembly business, and in the development of what is now Detroit Chassis!

“Learning has always been in the culture at DCP, I believe that it is one of DCP’s strategic strengths…Mike and Carlton, you both have worked hard to keep the DCP environment positive and to create an employee value system that is evident each time one enters the facility. Working at DCP has allowed me to grow and explore new avenues …The ability to express ones faith in a working environment has been a real blessing to me and to others as well. Thank you for allowing that to take place at DCP.”

“It is time for me to graduate from DCP and share some of the methods you have taught me over the years with others. You have always allowed me to explore new opportunities and given me the platform to think outside the box. Thank you for your encouragement and support…I know that DCP has a great future” stated, Charles Kier.

Kier has ventured into an entrepreneurial opportunity at Next Door LLC, a fabrication and manufacturer of parts for the transportation industry with partners Randy Redmer and Denny Thomas and will fill a senior executive role.

While at DCP Kier participated in many of DCP’s community related activities including Energy! (DCP’s weekly prayer and Bible study) and served as DCP’s corporate Santa Clause at the annual Family Christmas Celebrations conducted at the plant.
