Detroit Chassis Selects Kirk Alston as Material Planning & Logistics Manager

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles, and assembler of transit bus and RV chassis is proud to announce the selection of Kirk Alston as its Manager of Material Planning & Logistics, effective March 11, 2008. Mr. Alston will report to William Kirchmeier, VP – Operations and General Manager. Kirk Alston comes to Detroit Chassis with 22 years of cumulative experience in Materials, Production Control, Operations, and Supplier Development. He earned a dual Masters Degree in Operations and Human Resources at Walsh College, Troy MI and Bachelor of Business Administration from Davenport University. He has a successful track record of implementing lean principles, reducing inventories and freight cost while systematically improving system integrity. Mr. Alston’s previous employment included stints as a senior materials manager for two 1st Tier OEM automotive suppliers where he lead the implementation of Internal/External Pull Systems (Kan Ban), QAD implementation and most recently he was instrumental in the launch of 3 product lines to include Direct sequencing for 2 car lines. In addition, Kirk is also a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where his Materials background began as he learned early in his career integrity, discipline, and accountability are the keys to success. Kirk enjoys running, bowling, cooking and quality family time.
