New VP – Business and Technology Development

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, a manufacturer of niche vehicles and RV chassis, announced the promotion of Darin Burns from Sr. Manager – Strategic Business Development and Quality to the position of VP – Business and Technology Development, effective Monday, February 9, 2009. Burns will report to Michael J. Guthrie, President and CEO, Detroit Chassis LLC and he will be responsible for Sales and Marketing, Product and Manufacturing Engineering, Launch, Customer Service, Communications, and Community Affairs. Burns has been with DCP since 2007 and was responsible for Strategic Business initiatives, Quality Operating System, and internal/external quality performance indicators. Burns comes to DCP with 20 years of experience in Vehicle Manufacturing, Facility Management, and Supplier Development with Ford Motor Company.
Prior to coming to Detroit Chassis Burns was a Productivity Optimization Manager at Ford Motor Company responsible for the Ford F-Series Trucks, Escape and Econoline. He began his career as a cooperative education student at Buick Motor Division in Flint, Michigan. He has also been a Business Operations and Launch Manager, was instrumental in the implementation of numerous Lean supplier strategies, and a member of the Ford African Ancestry Network.
Detroit Chassis is a subsidiary of Spectra LMP LLC, a concept to customer provider of niche vehicle manufacturing solutions owned by Michael and Carlton Guthrie. Spectra also owns Magnys LLC, a provider of process and manufacturing engineering services, and Detroit Custom Chassis, a shuttle and transit bus chassis builder.
