WE ARE COMMITTED TO EMBRACING CHANGE BY LEARNING AND GROWTH

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis announced that the organization passed its third ISO 9001:2000 Surveillance Audit. Jim Wuolukka, the auditor from NSF-ISR, was very pleased throughout the entire visit to Detroit Chassis. Wuolukka made the following positive statements:

· The communication processes are most effective.

· The associates working on the line are aware of their job performance.

· Visual management is a major part of lean thinking and the work centers have the necessary data posted to aid the associates in performing their jobs.

· The work areas were clean, orderly and well-lit demonstrating Detroit Chassis’s dedication to 5S.

The organization was engaging and associates were prepared to discuss their processes, new model changes and any other questions. Wuolukka commended Detroit Chassis on problem solving techniques that are being used and their customer focused approach. The successful proposal process showed the commitment to continuous improvement.

We discovered an interesting connection that Wuolukka has with Detroit Chassis. Colonel Carolynn Mackson, the Quality Manager at Detroit Chassis is connected by Fort Bragg. Ms. Mackson had to leave Detroit Chassis for Fort Bragg a few weeks ago for preparation to be deployed in Baghdad, Iraq.

Wuolukka was stationed at Fort Bragg while serving in the first Gulf War. They were able to discuss this and other things during a phone conversation.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Wuolukka and Mackson for their leadership at DCP and their dedication and service to our country.
