DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis recently launched its Business Applications in Manufacturing Management Program (BAMM). Kiel Ethridge and Quentin McDonald both from Benjamin O Davis Jr. Aerospace Technical High School were selected to participate.
BAMM is an internship program developed by Detroit Chassis for high school seniors that started in 2004. It is a twelve-week program designed to give students exposure to each area of operation in manufacturing. The BAMM program will run through Friday, April 20, 2007. Students will report to Linda Ratliff, Communications Group Leader and Chaplain, Detroit Chassis Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m-12:00 p.m. and return to their high school for regularly scheduled classes in the afternoon.
“This program was developed to give high school students hands-on experience in manufacturing. The skills acquired during their program will well equip them to handle greater challenges and they will be able to utilize the leadership and management tools in other areas of their lives,” stated Michael Guthrie, President and CEO.
This program opens doors of opportunity to urban youth and provides opportunities to enhance their educational experience. Students gain an understanding and tremendous insight into the world of work.
