WE ARE COMMITTED TO WIN/WIN OUTCOMES THROUGH TEAMWORK
DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis, announced today that it has passed another milestone by going the first four months of this year without a recordable injury. These last four months has been recorded as the longest stretch of time in DCP history without a recordable injury.
The Safety Committee has been involved in planning strategies to keep this momentum growing and they have put a lot of exciting plans into action to ensure that we continue to work healthier, happier and safer. After some data analysis of last year’s injuries, the team discovered that the majority of injuries were taking place on Tuesday morning.
To heighten Safety we organized Terrific Tuesday’s, which allow associates to fellowship over a healthy continental breakfast during first break the first Tuesday of each month. We decided to roll Wellness in with this initiative so we also plan to share health and wellness material. This month’s handout showed the nutritional value of breakfast menu items from a popular fast food restaurant compared to our nutritious breakfast of fresh fruit, assorted cereal with milk and bagels. It was a smashing success! We plan to continue Terrific Tuesday each month so if you have some suggestions for healthy items to serve during this time or information you would like to share, forward your comments to Linda Ratliff at X 506.
Safety BINGO has been improved!
It will include incentives for Safety, Quality and Production. Company leaders, Michael and Carlton Guthrie approved a plan to increase the jackpot cap from $500 to $1,000 and as an added bonus, when production and quality numbers for the week have been met two additional numbers will be drawn. That will bring a total of three BINGO numbers to be drawn on the following Monday.
Our jackpot will increase by $250, Monday, May 8th, bringing our jackpot total to $620 because of our success thus far in 2006. We have the opportunity to increase our pot by $250 each time we complete a quarter without recordable injuries.
Way to go DCP! This certainly is World Champion performance.
