Improved Operational Equipment Efficiency!

WE ARE COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE BY ADDING VALUE

DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis, announced today that over the past two years DCP has steadily improved its Operational Efficiency. Operational Efficiency is a measure of up time, or time available to make product.

As you can see from the graph, two years ago DCP was down 10 minutes for every hour of the workday. Now DCP is only down for 1.8 minutes for every hour of the workday.

Why? LAMDA.

Beginning in 2004, the XPG consulting group trained us to see 7 types of waste. Using the LAMDA process we identified an 8th type of waste – wasting human capital. We put this lesson to good use in our drive for continuous improvement. The C. Lean process tapped this unused resource. Getting the input of the operators on the line through the C. Lean interviews, took our Lean initiative to the next level.

Our most recent use of the LAMDA process yielded a proposal for the incentive plan. The results were amazing! All associates eagerly participated and everyone took personal ownership in making both the build and the quality targets.

Morale and teambuilding skyrocketed. Great work DCP! Excellence is a must with us!
