Unparalled Improvement at DCP

WE ARE COMMITTED TO WIN/WIN OUTCOMES THROUGH TEAMWORK
DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis, announced today that it has reached another milestone!
While 2005 was a year filled with significant improvement in Safety, Quality, and Productivity, we knew there was more to be had!
The team went back to the basics and proposed an organization-wide incentive that has driven all associates to move from Excellent to World Championship. That goal is to work as a team to achieve zero injuries and World Champion quality meaning a 50% improvement in workmanship related issues.
The proposal was to take advantage of the recent split of the plant into two operational teams by providing an incentive to reward outstanding performance as follows:
· 1st If the Teams have no injuries for the week and
· 2nd If the Teams can reduce workmanship defects by 50% minimum and
· 3rd Build and ship all units in schedule
Then and only then would the Teams receive an incentive reward.
If the incentive goals were not reached, that team would be required to work through problem solving sessions to contain and ultimately permanently correct the safety or quality issues that kept them from reaching their goal.
The results have been outstanding! Except for the first week in which the quality level was improved but short of the goal, the incentive has been reached FOUR consecutive weeks in a row! We have had zero injuries and quality for workmanship issues has improved more than 50%!
GREAT JOB TEAM!!
