DETROIT, MI – Detroit Chassis LLC, an automotive manufacturing company of niche vehicles and RV chassis, announced today that its BAMM! (Business Applications in Manufacturing Management) co-op students, Ashleye Moncrief and Timothy Pace from Davis Aerospace Technical High School learned the connection between the fundamental responsibilities of what makes information technology (IT) important in business and how it can be applied to every day life. Recently, Ashleye and Timothy completed a 3-day module in DCP’s IT department. They were exposed to the following three principles of success.
· Your Backup Plan
· Continuous Effective Communication
· Problem Solving Skills
Each topic was given a day of discussion and hands on experience in relating the topic of the day to business and life. The first day, entitled “Your Backup Plan” pushed the students to explore two daily tasks that they must do to help make that day successful. They were then charged with developing a backup plan for turning in their homework, getting to school, and completing assignments timely.
On the second and third day, the students focused their attention on how to be successful in business by learning to communicate well with others, and then apply those communication skills into problem solving methods. Each student was given appropriate time on the help desk to handle field concerns, and each was given the opportunity to apply their newly learned methods into solving IT problems.
Overall the experience exposed the students to three key concepts that they can take and apply throughout their lives regardless of where their career paths will lead.
