MORE DCP NEWS
Amid the challenges of facing the COVID-19 Corona Virus Pandemic head-on with all of its complex uncertainties, Detroit Chassis continues to push forward in the face of adversity and shine the spotlight on high performing Associates during high-level meetings including the Balanced Score Card BSC and Vehicle Quality Review meetings.
Highlighting excellence is important to leaders. It also assures Associates that the ongoing effort they exert in support of the Company’s vision daily does not go unnoticed.
Associates listed in this publication received recognition during last week’s Balanced Score Card (BSC) meeting.
Donnell Baldwin, Repair Technician, works as a liaison and provides on-site customer support at National Fleet Services (NFS) to address DCP, Ford, and NFS issues. He works closely with the Customer and Quality Teams to identify root-causes of field concerns and informs DCP of the best possible solution to resolve issues. Great job, Donnell!
Victor Johnson, Mechanic, and Will Bass, Quality Supervisor, (not pictured) worked together and developed a fix that the customer sanctioned to eliminate a touch condition of the lower radiator hose to the brake lines. They noticed the same bracket used on the opposite side of the vehicle, and they continued to work on solutions to eliminate touch conditions. Their idea was approved by the customer and incorporated into the official repair process. Great job, Vic and Will!
Juliette Tyus-Griffin, Quality Technician, developed a process to fix and significantly improve the Driveshaft Guard’s repair. She noted that the team could meet the design requirement of attaching the driveshaft plate, driveshaft guard, and wire harness by installing a longer bolt. This fix got implemented and changed the repair from removing all components to a bolt change with an added tie strap. Great job, Juliette!
Winston Dennis, Material Handler, and his team, resolved issues that improved the overall flow of materials to the assembly area, and reduced downtime associated with delays. Great job, Winston and Team!
Congratulations ALL and THANK YOU for exhibiting excellence!
The pandemic changed the way businesses operate. Some have elected to forego specific menial tasks like landscaping, but not Detroit Chassis.
Associates are grateful that leaders understand the necessity of feeling good about your place of employment. Leaders are aware that while cleaning protocols require a lot of necessary diligence, the exterior gardens surrounding the building should receive care, and the landscaping gets neatly manicured.
Edwina Milligan, VP of Human Capital called it Making Sound Decisions in a communication to leaders.
“The grounds’ photos indeed demonstrate an example of money well spent and making a “sound decision.”
“Walking into Detroit Chassis now gives me a sense of pride and achievement.”
“Additionally, I hope that our customers will respect that we are not just another typical plant in the inner city. Furthermore, when candidates arrive at Detroit Chassis for interviews, they will see that our exterior surroundings mirror our established mission, vision, and values.”
“I believe that Associates will reflect pride through their housekeeping efforts due to the landscaping beautification project…morale increases…and Associates appreciate being a part of the Detroit Chassis Team.”
“This expenditure reflects a beneficial ROI.” Edwina Milligan, VP Human Capital
