Detroit Chassis successfully completed its ISO 9001 audit, reinforcing the strength of our Quality Operating System (QOS) and our shared commitment to Customer Joy. The auditor recognized several Associates for demonstrating strong process ownership, disciplined execution, and effective use of data key pillars of QOS including LaRoyshia Owens, Linda Ratliff, and Shaun Duff.

“The team showed strong ownership of their processes and how they react to performance data. – Lloyd Wine, NSF ISO Auditor

As part of our continuous improvement journey, a significant amount of the audit was spent reviewing training and Skills Matrix records, as we continue to increase our volume based on customer demand.

All teams are updating records and reinforcing standard work while training to ensure the right skills are in place to protect quality, safety, and the customer.

“Accurate training and skills alignment are critical to delivering consistent quality.”

Quality Gate and CAL Inspectors were highly commended for their disciplined adherence to standardized work—one of the cornerstones of our Quality Operating System (QOS). Inspections were executed the same way, every time, reinforcing built-in quality at the source. When a potential defect was identified on the floor, the team responded immediately, escalated appropriately, and took action to prevent any quality escape. The auditor specifically recognized Cynthia Edge, Quality Inspector-C1, for clearly demonstrating how standardized procedures guide her daily work and decision-making.

“Standardized work and fast reaction are clearly embedded in daily operations.”

The audit concluded with one minor nonconformance and three Opportunities for Improvement, providing a clear roadmap to further strengthen our systems. Overall, the results reflect a team that lives QOS, reacts quickly to abnormalities, and remains focused on delivering Customer Joy every unit, every time.

“Successfully completing our ISO audit is a testament to the discipline, teamwork, and ownership our people demonstrate every day. It reinforces that quality is not just a requirement at Detroit Chassis—it’s a mindset embedded in how we operate, how we serve our customers, and how we continuously improve.”
–Michael Guthrie, CEO and Co-Chairman

“I am very proud of the excellent performance of our team. The results of the ISO Audit reflect the continuous drive for adherence to all requirements, standardization, and achieving Customer Joy. Keep up the great work, DCP.”
–Ranson Smith, Director of In Process Quality and Engineering
